After five years in downtown Kelowna, a restaurant known for itѻýs variety of cocktails is shutting itѻýs doors for good.
Open since Canada day 2018, Jackѻýs on Bernard era is coming on Jan. 1.
ѻýDespite the hopes of remaining a staple in Kelownaѻýs food and beverage scene, the lack of government support for businesses affected by unforeseen events became the decisive factor,ѻý said owner Casey Greabeiel. ѻýJackѻýs had a remarkable five-year run, but a series of challenges, culminating in the August fire, has led us to this difficult decision.ѻý
Greabeiel added that over a four-week span due to the Grouse Complex of wildfires in August, the restaurant lost more than $100,000 in revenue.
Despite losing Jackѻýs, the restaurantѻýs entire team will be transitioning to roles with other restaurants under the Unconventional Hospitality Group umbrella, which includes Pretty Not Bad, Salt & Brick, and Diner Deluxe.
ѻýWhile bidding farewell to Jackѻýs was a tough decision, we are excited about consolidating our efforts and resources into our other projects,ѻý said Greabeiel.
Jackѻýs on Bernard will have one final celebration on New Yearѻýs Eve at 5 p.m. Jackѻýs final hurrah will have people dancing late into the night.
ѻýJackѻýs holds a special place in my heart, and Iѻým immensely proud of what weѻýve achieved.ѻý
