Finalists announced for Kelowna's 50th community awards

The three finalists for Kelownaѻýs 50th Annual Civic and Community Awards have been announced. 

The awards highlighting outstanding achievements made by Kelownaѻýs volunteers, artists, coaches, athletes, businesses, and non-profit organizations in 2024. 

ѻýWe are going to take a trip down memory lane over the last 50 years,ѻý said Wayne Moore, chair of the awards steering committee. ѻýI think itѻýs going to be a great night."

Fred Macklin & Sarah Donalda-Treadgold Memorial Award - Citizen of the Year

All Young Citizen of the Year finalists will receive funding towards their post-secondary education. The award winner will receive $2,000, and each of the two remaining finalists will receive $1,000. 

The recipient of the Teen Honour in the Arts award will receive a $500 entrance scholarship to UBC Okanagan. The recipient for the Central Okanagan Foundationѻýs Volunteer Organization of the Year will receive a $3,000 donation from the foundation. 

This yearѻýs Civic & Community Awards Gala will be held May 8 at the Delta Grand. Tickets are available through the .
