Salmon Arm RCMP are investigating a road rage incident on Highway 1 that was reported on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Police are investigating a road rage incident in which a gun was allegedly pointed at the complainant.

The complainant's call was received by Salmon Arm RCMP at 4 p.m. on April 14. He said the incident, involving a beige Cadillac Escalade SUV, began with a verbal exchange on Highway 1 near Walmart. After the exchange, the incident appeared to be over. However, the complainant caught up to the Cadillac pulled over to the side of the highway west of Salmon Arm at Pierre's Point Road.

"The complainant reported that the front passenger in the Cadillac pointed a gun at the complainant and his vehicle as it drove past the Cadillac," said Salmon Arm RCMP media relations officer Const. Andrew Hodges in a media release.

Chase RCMP were notified the Cadillac was likely headed their direction. Chase officers located the westbound vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

"The 32-year-old female driver, and 44-year-old male passenger were both arrested without incident," said Hodges. "One firearm was located in the passenger side of the Cadillac by police."

The couple was released without process while more evidence is collected.

Salmon Arm RCMP are investigating, with several charges expected to be recommended to BC Prosecution.
