Tributes are pouring in on social media for Quin Cormier, who died Friday

Tributes to a Penticton man who died in a workplace accident Friday are pouring in on social media.

Emergency services havenѻýt officially released his name yet, but friends are sharing memories of Quin Cormier, who was sent to hospital after a serious workplace accident at Skaha Ford on April 28, and later passed away.

ѻýMy heart goes out to Quin Cormierѻýs wife and family. He was so sweet and kind. Words canѻýt express what everyone at Skaha Ford is feeling today,ѻý wrot Sarah Gilbert on Facebook.

Friends have also set up a gofundme page in memory of Cormier to assist his family with expenses related to his sudden death.

ѻýQuin will forever be remembered as a loving husband, loyal family member and dear friend. Quin had a unique sense of humour, and loved to laugh (it was infectious). He was caring, shy, intelligent, creative and had a gentle soul,ѻý reads the gofundme introduction.

The page can be accessed at .

ѻýQuin once told me to not let the world change me.. he told me to ѻýstay weirdѻý ѻý Iѻýll always remember him being the kindest dude. Fly free homie,ѻý wrote Rae Campbell.

First responders received a call for a man pinned between two vehicles in the mechanics shop area of Skaha Ford at around 11:40 a.m. Friday.

ѻýThere was a medical emergency involving a male. Firefighters arrived along with B.C. Ambulance Service who conducted CPR and AED protocols,ѻý said Penticton fire department chief Larry Watkinson.

WorkSafeBC confirmed they were notified by the RCMP of a ѻýserious workplace incidentѻý and had fatal and serious injury officers currently on site investigating.

In a sad case of irony, Cormierѻýs workplace accident came on the National Day of Mourning for those who have lost their lives to work-related incidents.
