Around a thousand people filled the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on April 6 to get a look at some of the many experiences across not just the city but the greater region.
The TRUE Penticton Experience Market, formerly the TRUE Penticton Tourism Expo, showcased everything from festivals, to wineries and breweries, to the heritage sites that set the region apart from the rest of B.C.
A steady crowd came through the convention centre to take in the sites and kids filled out a fun bingo card, while the food donations were collected for the community fridge and pantry.
Booths included popular Penticton events, such as the Penticton Scottish Festival and Penticton Peach Festival, as well as attractions from the surrounding area like the Kettle Valley Railway in Summerland and the Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos.
The Gotta Goat Farm brought one of their goats to show off, and there were plenty of craft brews and local wines on display.
The event is a warmup for the thousands of firefighters set to descend on the convention centre and nearby South Okanagan Events Centre over the coming weeks for various conferences and training activities.
