Showers, flowers and sun in Okanagan forecast

Most communities in the north, central and southern Okanagan will start the week of April 21, with cloudy skies and a chance of showers before the sun emerges. 

Around the region cherry trees, iconic yellow Arrowleaf balsamroot and Magnolia trees are in full bloom. 

Environment Canada forecasts the Okanagan work week will begin with a mix of sun and cloud and a chance of rain of Monday April 21. Vernon residents will start their week with a high of 12C, with temperatures dipping to 0C overnight. Penticton and the south Okanagan will see a high of 14C with temperatures remaining just above freezing after the sun sets.

The temperature is then expected to warm and skies are forecast to clear across the Okanagan from Tuesday April 22, until Thursday April 24.

A high of 20C and sun forecast for north, central and southern regions on Thursday, before clouds return for the weekend beginning on Friday. 

The weekend weather will remain warm and cloudy with temperatures between 15C and18C on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

A chance of rain is forecast for Friday evening.
