Okanagan College's Civil Engineering Technology recently received a boost from land surveying company GeoVerra.

The program received six global navigation satellite survey (GNSS) systems, which were donated by GeoVerra and will help students gain hands-on experience with tools used in the technologically advanced construction industry. 

In total, the six machines cost $77,900.

With this technology, students can learn and work on their surveying skills as they prepare for their future careers.

乌鸦传媒淕eoVerra乌鸦传媒檚 donation is substantial as this survey equipment is commonly used on construction sites locally and throughout the world and will help us prepare our students for today's modern construction sector,乌鸦传媒� said OC civil engineering technology professor Chris Pieper. 乌鸦传媒淲e know that 93 per cent of our civil engineering technology grads are employed in the industry so it's essential that we are preparing them for their careers.乌鸦传媒�

When a company like GeoVerra makes donations like this, they also offer employment opportunities in the future.
