Kelowna's newest park is set to open on Saturday, May 3.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., DeHart Park, located at 687 DeHart Road will officially open.

While residents will be able to enjoy the new park space, there will be free family-friendly activities for everyone as well including inflatables and lawn games. There will also be basketball, ping pong, and foosball in the new basketball court and games area of the park.

Construction for the park started in July 2024 and features new pickleball courts, basketball court, multi-use field, outdoor fitness equipment, a playground and children's water play area, a fenced-off space for dogs, a games area, skate feature, pump track, a walking loop, picnic tables, seating areas, relocation of the community garden, and infrastructure improvements for vehicle, transit, cycling, and pedestrian access.

The washrooms at the new facility are still under construction and will be throughout the summer and into the fall.

The project cost $8.6 million, according to the City of Kelowna's website.
