1 arrested in West Kelowna police incident

The incident happened in the 3400-block of Old Okanagan Highway

Officers from the West Kelowna and Kelowna RCMP detachments teamed up to arrest one person at a police incident on Wednesday morning, April 9.

Officers from both West Kelowna and Kelowna responded to a police incident on Wednesday morning that led to the arrest of one person.

Around 7:30 a.m. on April 9, a witness told Black Press Media about two RCMP vehicles (one truck and one SUV) travelling at a high rate of speed with their lights and sirens on going over the bridge into West Kelowna. 

Kelowna RCMP confirmed they were called to the "police incident" in the 3400-block of Old Okanagan Highway to assist West Kelowna RCMP officers. An emergency response team was also at the scene.

"A suspect in the incident was arrested and the investigation is ongoing," said Kelowna RCMP communications advisor Ryan Watters. "There is no concerns for public safety."
